Color schemes

Loveshack supports a light and a dark scheme, configured under Appearance → Customize → Appearance.

Scheme selection

Setting Effect
Default color scheme Which scheme new visitors see
Show color scheme selector Whether visitors can switch schemes themselves

Turning the selector off commits the site to the default scheme for everyone.

Accent color

The accent color drives links, interactive states, and the highlight treatments throughout the theme. It is the single highest-leverage color setting — change it first, then adjust the rest only where the result needs correcting.

A separate toggle, Use accent color on hover, applies the accent to social icon hover states.

Global UI colors

Four settings control the neutral surfaces the interface is built on, paired across schemes:

Setting Applies to
Dark muted background Muted surface in dark scheme
Light muted background Muted surface in light scheme
Dark global border Border color in dark scheme
Light global border Border color in light scheme

Card colors

Stream cards carry their own color settings, again paired light and dark, and again per post type once Override All posts settings is enabled:

  • Dark and light card background
  • Dark and light card border
  • Dark and light sticky card background and border

Sticky cards get their own colors so pinned items read as pinned without needing a badge.

Effects

Setting Effect
Enable card background blur Applies a backdrop blur behind stream cards
Enable single panel glass blur Applies the same treatment to the single-post panel
Enable page load animations Fades content in on navigation
Rounded corner size Corner radius across cards and panels

Blur has a rendering cost

Backdrop blur is expensive on low-powered devices and can cause visible scroll jank on long streams. If the stream feels sluggish on mobile, turn the card blur off first.
