Landing page¶
Loveshack ships a dedicated landing page template for sites that want a marketing or introduction page separate from the activity stream.
Using the template¶
- Create a new page in Pages → Add New.
- In the page settings, set the template to Landing.
- Publish.
The template lives at page-templates/landing.php.
The landing page pattern¶
A matching block pattern is registered so the page can be populated with a complete starting layout rather than an empty canvas. Insert it from the block editor's pattern browser and edit the content in place.
Blocks available on the landing page¶
Two server-rendered blocks are particularly useful here:
| Block | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Stream header | The site header treatment, including subscriber and follower count pills |
| Subscriptions | The subscription tier list with checkout links |
These are server-rendered because their output depends on theme settings, the visitor's subscription state, and the configured tiers — so they always reflect live configuration rather than what was saved into the post content.
The Subscriptions block¶
The block renders the same tier cards as the /subscribe/ page, from one shared
template, so the two cannot drift apart. Tiers lay out three to a row, and a row
holding fewer than three centres itself rather than sitting left.
Visitors who are not signed in see the same buttons as everyone else. With guest checkout enabled, Subscribe takes them straight to Stripe Checkout and the account is created from the payment; with it disabled they are asked to sign in first. See Tiers and Stripe.
The block's Show free tier toggle drops the free tier from the list, leaving only the paid ones.
Making it the front page¶
To use the landing page as the site's front page while keeping the stream elsewhere:
- Go to Settings → Reading.
- Set Your homepage displays to A static page.
- Choose the landing page as Homepage and a separate page as Posts page.
The activity stream then renders on the posts page instead of the site root.
